1974 This was a time of change for Mattes & Ammann. As fashion moved away from synthetic materials, the company had to review its strategies and look for new production and distribution channels. This year marked the in-house development of technical fabrics.
Continuous development efforts in close cooperation with a new customer base enabled us in back to top
1984 to further expand our production (factory building “Ib”) and to improve our material flow.Our activities in this new business line resulted in new requirements with regard to quality and testing. back to top

Mattes & Ammann prepared its first quality manual in-house in accordance with DIN 9000 – 9004. This quality manual was developed in close co-operation with staff and the relevant foremen, not just imposed by management.
In the meantime, specification and certification management became an integral part of every article, order and customer, ensuring the level of quality required by the market.
Our quality assurance department is a staff unit that reports directly to the management and decides on quality-issues independently.
